Healthwatch Warrington was initially approached by Signing Solutions to discuss the issues that the Deaf community in Warrington are experiencing with Hospital access. This was discovered via outreach and support that they are providing within the Deaf Centre. We were invited to come and speak to the Deaf community directly via focus groups which were supported by BSL interpreters.

The Government has published a report that there are national supply issues affecting medications for the treatment of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). There are a combination of reasons why this is happening, including: increase in demand, manufacturing issues, change in suppliers, change in what manufactures are making certain products. Warrington Borough Council have awarded the new Healthwatch Warrington contract to Engaging Communities Solutions Community Interest Company. This means ECS (Engaging Communities Solutions) can continue to deliver the contract which they have held since August 2018 and maintain the high level of support offered to local residents throughout the borough. The contract will include Healthwatch services and also the NHS Complaints Advocacy service contract. -
