Two newly released reports from Healthwatch have revealed widespread concerns about access to GP services across Cheshire and Merseyside, with residents calling for urgent improvements in appointment systems, digital access, and support for vulnerable patients.

Healthwatch Warrington surveyed over 150 residents between October 2024 and March 2025 to understand how people access GP services and how recent NHS reforms are impacting care.

This report presents the findings of an independent review conducted by Healthwatch Warrington into the experiences of patients accessing cancer support services at the Delamere Centre, as well as related services across Halton and Warrington.

As of May 2025, 79 responses had been analysed, with many more expected before the survey closes later this year. These findings have already been shared with Warrington Borough Council and care providers, with early recommendations focusing on improving punctuality, training, communication, and consistency among carers.

The full comprehensive report, including detailed recommendations and an expanded data set, will be published in December 2025.

Healthwatch Warrington encourages individuals with experience of home care services—either personally or through a family member—to continue sharing their insights by participating in the ongoing survey available on their website.
