Healthwatch Warrington’s Time, Trust & Care report highlights the experiences of people receiving home care across the borough. While many respondents praised carers for their kindness and professionalism, the report identifies key concerns around punctuality, communication, continuity of care and visit duration, providing valuable insight into how services can be improved.

The report highlights both positive experiences and areas where improvement is needed. Many respondents described carers as friendly, respectful and supportive, with numerous examples of staff going beyond their core duties to provide companionship and reassurance. However, recurring themes included late or shortened visits, frequent changes of carers, poor communication when delays occurred, and concerns around training and person-centred care. Healthwatch Warrington has used this feedback to develop a series of recommendations aimed at improving consistency, quality, accountability and the overall experience of domiciliary care services for residents and their families.

As of May 2025, 79 responses had been analysed, with many more expected before the survey closes later this year. These findings have already been shared with Warrington Borough Council and care providers, with early recommendations focusing on improving punctuality, training, communication, and consistency among carers.
