Healthwatch Warrington Recognised Nationally for Driving Improvements Through Community Voice
Healthwatch Warrington has been recognised by Healthwatch England for its work improving health and social care services and ensuring local people's voices help shape the support they receive. The recognition comes in Healthwatch England's latest Local Healthwatch Impact 2025/26 report, which highlights examples of outstanding impact from local Healthwatch organisations across the country
The national report praises Healthwatch organisations for their role in reducing health inequalities, helping people access services, supporting improvements in care, and ensuring decision-makers listen to community experiences. It notes that more than 370,000 people shared their experiences with local Healthwatch organisations during the year.
Healthwatch Warrington was specifically highlighted for its work in identifying and escalating safeguarding concerns. According to the report, what began as support for an individual resident ultimately led to wider action being taken to improve services and prevent future people from experiencing similar difficulties. Healthwatch England cited this as an example of how local Healthwatch organisations provide an invaluable early warning system for health and care services.
The report also recognised Healthwatch Warrington's wider work gathering feedback on residents' and families' experiences of home care services, exploring men's mental health, and reviewing how health and care services communicate individual needs and reasonable adjustments. These projects have helped ensure local services better understand the experiences and priorities of the people who rely on them every day.
Healthwatch England described local Healthwatch organisations as a trusted, independent source of community insight that helps health and care leaders identify issues early and make informed improvements. The report concludes that meaningful impact is built on trust, strong relationships, and a commitment to listening to people's real-life experiences.
