Healthwatch Warrington Champions Community Voices in Transformative 2024–2025 Annual Report

Under the banner “Unlocking the Power of People-Driven Care,” the report highlights how Healthwatch Warrington has empowered over 46,000 residents to share their experiences and access vital information about local services. With just three full-time staff and the support of 24 dedicated volunteers, the organisation produced 18 reports, conducted 8 care home visits, and facilitated 244 hours of volunteer time to amplify the voices of Warrington’s communities.
Key Achievements:
- Hospital Discharge Report: The most-read publication of the year, spotlighting challenges in bed blocking and post-discharge support.
- Oral Health Campaign: Reached over 27,000 people through videos and distributed 600 brushing charts, significantly improving early dental visits for children.
- Home Care Review: Revealed that only 46% of carers stayed for full visits, prompting a full review by the Council.
- “About Me” Card Pilot: A trauma-informed tool co-designed with residents to improve patient experiences during appointments.
- Advocacy Services: Supported residents with NHS complaints, including a new triage system and monthly drop-in sessions.
